Matt Lucas here - I'm locally based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and have a passion for wildlife photography. I also love getting into the studio or out on location too, but I belong in the forests with my camera in hand. I specialize in environmental portraiture - telling the story of wildlife through the habitat, behaviour and other elemental factors. My work is intended to help with conservation efforts in the Atlantic provinces, particularly my home province of Nova Scotia. Stories and adventures, colours and textures - if it can be photographed, I'm there.

I graduated from the Professional Photography program at Nova Scotia Community College in 2023, and the University of King’s College, completing a Bachelor or Arts program with a double-major in English and Creative Writing. My work has been published in Canadian Geographic and the Canadian Wildlife Federation. My images have also been shared over prominent social media accounts like Nature Conservancy of Canada, Environment Canada, and Environment Ontario. My outdoor training includes a Class 1 Outdoor Field Leader certification, along with a certification for Wilderness and Remote First Aid.
